Steve Jacobs

Born in Germany of American parents with his Father having been a member of the military, Steve moved to Shem Creek in Mt. Pleasant and fell in love with the waters and marshes of the town and with the architecture of nearby Charleston. Steve captures this passion using oil, watercolor, acrylics and pencil.  For years Steve entertained Atlanta, as one of its top pianists. Now he frequently paints musical and other subjects which are transformed from realism to fantasy in the same canvas. In his Charleston architectural works, he really pushes the drama of a scene with extreme lights and darks. He is currently a member of the Charleston Artists Guild. “My painting style ranges from loose to photo realistic. For over 30 years, I have worked from photographs, and from plein air sketches in Charleston capturing the beauty and history of the city.-Steve Jacobs”
