Beach Day

The Charleston Artist Guild Gallery presents Marsh and Sea an exhibition of paintings by Jen Spaker celebrating the light, atmosphere, and simple pleasures of time spent by the water. Spaker, a painter of over 20 years, works primarily in oils and draws inspiration from the coastal beauty of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Now based in Mount Pleasant, her work reflects the colorful sunsets, expansive skies, and relaxed coastal lifestyle of the Charleston area. Beach scenes and figures enjoying the shoreline are a central theme in this collection.

"Docked Shrimpers"

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Spaker also spent two decades in Western New York before moving south to the Charlotte area and eventually settling in coastal South Carolina. Largely self-taught, she has supplemented her artistic journey with numerous workshops and classes over the years. Though she pursued degrees in psychology and nursing in college, her lifelong passion for art has remained constant.

"Action!"

Guests are invited to attend the opening reception for "Marsh and Sea" during the Charleston Art Walk on Friday, July 3, from 5–8 p.m. at the Charleston Artist Guild Gallery at 160 E. Bay Street in downtown Charleston. The exhibition will remain until July 31. Visitors can experience the full collection during regular gallery hours and during the First Friday Art Walk.
