Wayne Northcutt

Wayne Northcutt, a landscape artist, was born in New Orleans, and raised in Mississippi, and California.  He earned a Ph.D. in Modern European History from the University of California.  Northcutt taught most of his professional career in western New York at Niagara University.  He has also taught in Paris and Beijing.  Northcutt began studying art at a young age when he lived in the South.  Taking early retirement in 2007, he moved to the south of France with his wife Renee, a native of France, and returned to his earlier passion, art, and studied with two influential French artists.  After moving to Charleston in 2013, he entered the Charleston Artist Guild as an exhibiting artist.  He paints both the Carolina Low Country and the south of France.  He has exhibited in France, as well as in the Charleston area where he has won a number of awards.  His paintings are in the homes of both North Americans and Europeans.
