September Featured Artist - Christine Blyth "Blyth Spirit"

"Paranthetical"
The Charleston Artist Guild Gallery is excited to present Blyth Spirit, an exhibition by Christine Blyth whose goal is to share her curiosity, humor, and joy in her work that continues to transport one to that place time and again. She creates to find balance and peace of spirit. Christine is the featured artist at the CAG Gallery for the month of September.

"Julie's Choice"
Christine finds her creative voice in abstracts drenched in color with acrylic paint, charcoal, pencil, and crayon. Inspired by colors and textures of nature, and textiles she creates from a place of playful abandon to counter her analytic healthcare career. Applying the media to the canvas or panel she works layer by layer intuitively and calls forth an emotional response via value, line, shape, and hue.

"One Fish, Two Fish"
Blyth is a Charleston native and from an early age pursued creative endeavors such as sewing, fashion designing, and quilting. After establishing her career, and raising children in Orlando, FL, she returned to her need to create. She attended Seminole State College in Central Florida and found her new creative outlet, drawing and painting. After returning home to Charleston, Christine entered several shows in local galleries and festivals. She placed first in the acrylic division in the 2018 North Charleston Arts Festival and received awards in subsequent shows.
