The Charleston Artist Guild Gallery is proud to announce Mary Glenn Keadle as the featured artist for March 2025. Her exhibit "The Vintage Gardener" was inspired by her years growing up on a farm in upstate South Carolina.  Working on this collection of paintings, she has drawn from fond memories of picking vegetables in the garden with her dad, arranging heirloom flowers in a vase with her grandmother, and jumping from hay bale to hay bale with her brothers (and trying to not get lodged in between). These new pieces evoke a sense of nostalgia and beauty for everyday moments gleaned from nature.

"Okra Love"

Growing up, Mary Glenn spent her summers at the picturesque Pawleys Island. Her artistic journey began at the age of 7 with watercolor lessons from her aunt. Those early lessons fueled a passion, and by middle school, Mary Glenn was displaying and selling her own paintings alongside her aunt’s on a clothesline at Pawleys. These formative years instilled in her a deep appreciation for both nature and art, shaping her creative vision.  Her ability to capture the interplay of light and color in natural settings creates a compelling connection between viewer and landscape.
