Fran Davies

I have been drawing for as long as I can remember and creating art has been a lifelong passion for me. I grew up outside NYC, earned a BFA in Illustration from Syracuse University and enjoyed a long career in advertising as and art and creative director, working on TV and print campaigns in the USA and abroad. In 2018, my husband and I moved to Mount Pleasant, excited to begin a new chapter as part of this vibrant art community and the beauty of the Lowcountry. I’m always learning and experimenting with different techniques, and I like to choose whatever medium feels right, based on the impression I want a piece to convey. The joy in art for me is in playful spontaneity, in discovering a new technique, or making a happy mistake, or trying a totally different approach. My art is a constant exploration of subjects that reflect my local surroundings, as well as the people and places in the US and abroad that continue to inspire me.
