Nancy DeMore

Dr. Nancy DeMore, originally from Newton, Massachusetts, discovered her passion for visual art

following a distinguished career in medicine. After more than two decades as a dedicated

Breast Cancer Surgeon, she transitioned from the operating room to the studio, where art

became a profound new outlet for creativity and expression.

DeMore's artwork is defined by a vivid interplay of abstract and realism, brought to life through

dynamic, bright colors. She frequently explores themes of nature and femininity, often portraying

women entwined with natural elements. These pieces embody her desire to merge humanity

and the environment in harmony, aiming to uplift, inspire, and evoke emotion in her viewers. Her

style is both distinctive and deeply personal—rooted in introspection, yet vibrant and outwardly

expressive.

An active member of the Charleston arts community, DeMore holds memberships in both the

Charleston Artist Guild (CAG) and the Mount Pleasant Artist Guild. She currently serves as the

Director of Exhibitions at CAG. Her work is exhibited at the Charleston Artist Guild Gallery,

where she earned third place in both the 2024 and 2025 CAG Fall Signature Show. In 2025, her

art was featured at the Charleston City Gallery both as part of the Piccolo Spoleto Juried Art

Exhibition and at the Charleston Avery Center as part of the MOJO Juried Art Exhibition. Her

work has also been published in Humanitas, the literary journal of the Medical University of

South Carolina. She is a graduate of the Milan Art Institute Master Program in 2026, and a

member of the Society of Professional Artists.
